Traveling in and around the islands is truly an adventure. Typically used for carrying cargo from Nassau to the out islands, the mailboats (cargo freighters) are a great way to get from island to island on the cheap - but you do need to be somewhat adventuresome! It's not the fastest or most comfortable way to go but it's definitely cheaper and more interesting! If you think the mailboat is something you would like to experience, make sure you check with the Dock Master's office at (242) 393-1064 to verify departure times and availability.
